An audiogram is a graph that shows the audible threshold for standardized frequencies as measured by an audiometer. The Y axis represents intensity measured in decibels and the X axis represents frequency measured in hertz. A parent of a deaf child might encounter the term “audiogram” when discussing the results of their child’s hearing test with an audiologist. The audiologist might use the audiogram to show the parent the specific frequencies and intensity levels at which their child is able to hear.
