Early involvement and tailored support are essential for the development of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. We offer a wide range of programs designed to meet the unique needs of your family.
Together we can ensure your child develops strong language skills and thrives in all aspects of life.
At LEAD-K Family Services, we work closely with families to connect them with essential resources and support. By partnering with the Department of Education, Department of Developmental Services, and the Department of Social Services, we ensure your family is linked to the services necessary for your child’s development. Our role is to guide you through accessing a comprehensive support network tailored to your child’s unique needs.
We connect families with Early Start programs that provide specialized services for infants and toddlers with hearing loss. Our network includes Teachers of the Deaf, Regional Centers, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists, all working to create personalized plans. We refer families to these professionals for assessments that form the basis of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Additional Information
As children approach the age of three, if they contact LEAD-K Family Services, we provide resources and guidance families in the transition from Early Start services to an Individualized Education Program (IEP) with their local school district. This ensures that the child’s educational journey is supported seamlessly.
The IFSP outlines the early intervention services and goals for each child and family. It is developed collaboratively with the family and reviewed every six months to ensure ongoing progress and support.
We connect families with resources for ASL and spoken language development, offering regular evaluations to track progress. Families can also request sign language instruction and speech services. Learn more about tracking your child's language growth through our Language Milestone page here and brochure.
